the Times has been running a fantastic video series for awhile now that i just discovered. after spending way too long watching them, I am compelled to pass it along.
one in 8 million.
wonderful glimpses of peoples’ lives. for instance, this guy has been growing beautiful greens in the projects in Fort Greene, teaching children that an egg does not come from eggplant, and feeding his family fresh food.
i’m not a big fan of the Times’ attempts at multi-media, but this one is spot on.

for the past few weeks, i’ve been trying to reimagine my bedroom from the ground up. i want new colors, textures, light, angles. the lovely silvana mangano’s bedroom looks nice.
languid loungey dreamy vibes.

watching 106 & Park for the first time in a MINUTE, hoping to catch a glimpse of that new jay z fire.
turns out, the jay z + pharrell joint ‘change clothes’ is an OLD SCHOOL JOINT OF THE DAY.
whaaaa? 2003? old school?

it’s bizarre to be at an age where you start the day feeling like the dude talking on tv that sounds so smart is not smart at all but just sounds smart. gives the impression of smartness. but when you parse it down and unpack it, and look at it, he’s not saying anything.
sure, this can feel good and make one feel superior, and soooo smart. but bottom line, isn’t it weird? why is he on tv? why do so many people accept that talking head as truth?
weird.
